Mac Users:

Due to recent updates from Apple / Java, eHuman can no longer support Tooth Atlas version 6.6 software on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)  [released 8/2009].  Tooth Atlas users experiencing issues must upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) or 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

While going through the installation process on my mac the progress bar freezes while "Writing Files" and doesn't go any further...

Occasionally, the Tooth Atlas appears to get stuck during installation. . The installation bar does not appear to move and simply says "validating package" or "writing files". The program will stay like this without indicating any progress in the progress bar for 15-20 minutes and then it will move on to the next step in the installation process. We suggest giving the program at least 20 minutes to move past this point. If you continue to experience difficulties after this 20 minute period please feel free to contact us.

I am running an older version of the Tooth Atlas and it doesn’t seem to be working properly.

Please upgrade to the latest Tooth Atlas to avoid technical difficulties.  Tooth Atlas 6.4 is not supported on Safari 5.1 or Mac OS X Lion.

How do I skip the java security popup window?

Mac users may find themselves continually being prompted to allow java content to run on their computer.

You might find that the popup windows happen less often if you choose NOT to always allow content from this publisher.

This appears to be a bug in the new java plugin.  We are hoping this issue will be solved soon.

What's the best way to run the Tooth Atlas on a Mac?

The new version of Tooth Atlas uses a separate window to display various interactive content.

For best results we recommend making your browser a little smaller and moving it away from the left side of the screen.

(use a 3D models page to get a wide window)

You can also choose from three window sizes on the Table of Contents page (Mac only):

When I try to register my Atlas, the Activation window disappears after about 30 seconds...

The easiest way to solve this issue is to register your Tooth Atlas from either the Comparisons page or Morphology page. To navigate to one of these pages, choose a tooth from the Table of Contents then choose Comparisons or Morphology from the top of the page.
